I would put Gary in the middle. Gary is surprisingly strong when his dogs die, but he isn't very strong when it comes to society. All of our responses compare because we all think that Gary is in the middle, and no one had a different opinion. I think as the story moves on Gary will have to become stronger because the older he gets, the more he will have to deal with society. Gary will have to count on other humans to care for him as he ages.
